My Movie review of Wonder

Ever since I was little, my favorite movie has been the "Karate Kid". Since then, I have watched a lot more movies and I have a new set of movies I really like. In the last few months, I have watched the movie "Wonder" twice, once with my school and the other time with my family. "Wonder" is about August (Auggie) Pullman, a small, funny boy who has a facial difference. He has been homeschooled his whole life and has just entered fifth grade in middle school.

While adjusting going from homeschooled to school, he encounters all kinds of people and bullying from some of them who are all different ages. After all he has gone through, he is still strong and hasn't given up hope, he is creative and a very brilliant minded boy. While Auggie faces school, the movie goes to show the perspective of the people that "revolve" around Auggie. For an example, his sister Via, in the movie it shows how Via is feeling about her family and Auggie. It also shows her relationship with Miranda, (her best friend), and what happened to them. There are some other perspectives that are shown in the movie too: Miranda, Jack will, Summer and a few others.

When I was watching the movie, I learned to not give up hope in tough times and to treat other people nicely. To respect them, even though they might or might not be different.

I really liked the movie because it shows the audience how the people who can relate to Auggie's situation, feel when they get bullied, and how the people around Auggie and Auggie himself gets affected by it. Also another reason I liked this movie was that how Auggie managed to focus on the positive things from a negative situation. Like when Auggie was walking to the school and the whole school parted for him to walk through and they stared at him, he was ignored that and started thinking about how he would stare at Chewbacca if he came to school and he went up to him, (in his imagination), and apologized if his staring made him uncomfortable. Then they high-fived and went inside the school. I think the moral of this story is: Don't judge a book by its cover!

Gifts To Get or Do

Most of the gifts that I want, I probably won't get until I am a little bit older or never. So I am going to write 5 things I really want to get or do, for a holiday or just because. Although, I might still not get them for a holiday or just because. So here are the 5 things I might or might not get for a holiday or just because.

  1. First of all, I really want to go skydiving! Ever since I was little, my biggest wish is to skydive. I can always picture myself falling from the sky and wondering if earth looks the same from the pictures of Earth when you search up Earth and look at the pictures or if it looks a bit different from it.
  2. Secondly, this wish is a little bit like the first wish, but a bit different. I wish a trip to outer space and to see the whole universe. I would see all the planets, meteoroids, comets, asteroids, and I might also be able to see the sun, if my eyes don't get blinded to soon by it! If this happened, it would be a life changing experience for me!
  3. Third, I would want to get a machine that would automatically give me a book that would be perfect for me to read at that time. Like if I wanted to read a thriller, (or any other genre), book, the machine would find me a thriller book that fits in with what kind if thriller I want to read at that time. It would be really nice if that existed, but unfortunately it doesn't.
  4. Fourth, I would like to eliminate all the homework from all the schools I go and going to. Like homework and assignments, but not the education ( we need that!). I would go to school and learn but no assignments , homework or work to do outside of school of any kind. But this does not count for the activities I do at school or studying for tests and quizzes.
  5. Finally, I would like to get a gear set. I like to build things, like mechanisms, its exciting for me to build anything I want! I would try to build my own mechanism, but I think everything is pretty much already discovered, (I could be wrong though?!). It would be awesome if I had it though!

Have Perseverance

When you face an obstacle in life its important to have perseverance. It is important because it is your goal and you need to reach it; Don't give up!

"Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever."
Lance Armstrong
If you quit you will never get past the obstacle, but once you overcome it you will be proud of yourself and will feel good about not giving up. But if you give up, you will spend your life regretting that you could have tried harder and could have overcome the obstacle and keep on living happily. Do not give up because you can get past it, and it will get better!

Bingeing Mara Dyer

My favorite binge is the book series Mara Dyer. Its about a girl who has been in an accident that killed all of her friends but she was left unharmed, but the deaths of Rachel, Claire and Jude are uncertain. She tries to remember back to the accident and figure out what exactly happened. As her memories come slowly back, she moves to Florida hoping the new location will help her heal from the death of her best friend Rachel, she meets a boy, Noah Shaw. Mara discovers some secrets of her own that are deadly, while her boyfriend Noah has a secret that could help Mara with her own.
I really liked this series, and if you are even a little bit interested, I think you should give it a try!

Relating To Outsiders

In the Outsiders, I think that I am most related to Sodapop. I think that because Sodapop is energetic and also happy most of the time. I am also happy and energetic sometimes. Also he is the middle child of his family, (Darry, Sodapop, Ponyboy); I also am the middle child but have a older sister and a younger brother. He has a lot of friends and he is a good kid. I also can relate to Ponyboy, and Darry.
I can relate to Ponyboy by that I read a lot and he reads a lot too. Also for Darry he hides his feelings and he isn't good at expressing them. I can relate to that because sometimes I don't feel comfortable telling someone that I want to pass them or that I don't like what they are doing.

Studying A Poem

Today in English class we went over a poem, it is from The Outsiders. It is :

We started to memorize it, but I already know it. We then did a play that involves action and we have to say the second half of the poem. The first and the third lines have a positive tone and the rest of the lines have a negative tone. Example:  Positive -Nature's first green is gold and Her early leaf's a flower.
Negative -Her hardest hue to hold, But only so an hour, Then leaf subsides to leaf, So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day, and Nothing gold can stay.

My Future Me

The Future me is studying a x-ray. She finds the damage in the x-rays and tells the doctor what is wrong. She is a radiologist, a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and injury through medical imaging techniques. Some examples are: x-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET), fusion imaging, and ultrasound. She has been through medical school, gotten her residency and passed the license examination. She is a hardworking radiologist and gets good money. She barely makes any mistakes and does good work. She lives with her parents and siblings but she doesn't fight with them often. In her free time, she sits down and reads a good book or else she watches Netflix on her tablet. When she goes home, she makes dinner along with her sister and brother, but her brother would be playing on his phone and her sister will try to sneakily put more salt and spices in the dinner. Then she will call her parents for dinner and prepare it on the dining table. After 10 minutes, her parents and siblings then come, but she will be finished with her dinner by then. She then waits till all of them are done, she will clean the dishes with her sister and go to have free time. After 30 minutes, she will go up to sleep or study then sleep. In the morning, she's at work and is studying a x-ray.

My Identity

I am 13 years old, I love to read and I also like to cook. I am in a family of 5: my parents, my brother, my sister and me. I have a pet parrot named Einstein also! I also like to do math, ride my bike and play in the park often. I like to experiment in science and also in other stuff. Like if I solved a math problem, I would try to find another way to solve it. I like to play volleyball and to swim. I used to be in the volleyball team last year, but couldn't go this year. :(

My Past Tv Show

When I was little, my siblings and I used to watch a show called Doraemon.
We always waited for the show to play when we were in India. I still remember a part in the show where Doraemon put this object on the ground and the lever was put on one side, so the person who did that, had their  world tilted to that side, but not for the others.  It's a little complicated, but it's a good show. I didn't get to finish all of the episodes though.

What I am Passionate about

I'm passionate about math. I like to do math, because I think it's fun. Also, it benefits me, because I learn it and gives me more knowledge on math. I also am passionate about reading, because it releases all of my stress and lets me escape from this world. It also lets me think about other perspectives in different situations, a example is Wonder.

Some Important Quotes

"Be the change you want to see in the world"
This quote is important to me, because if you want to see a change, you got to start with yourself.
"Fake it till you make it"
This is also important, because you have to keep on trying until you reach your goal.
"Whoever is trying to bring you down, is already below you"
This is important too, because the person who is trying to bring you down is just jealous of you.
